Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA Version A.05.01 Release Notes, April 2011 (5900-1486)

Support for Easy Deployment
With Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628 and the patches listed for
HP-UX 11i v3 under “Patches Introduced for A.05.01 for the April 2011 Enhancements
(page 15), Metrocluster supports the Package Easy Deployment feature. This feature is
available from the Serviceguard Manager version B.03.10. It provides a simple way to
quickly deploy Metrocluster modules in supported toolkit applications. This feature requires
Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628. The Package Easy Deployment
feature works only on Serviceguard version A.11.20, and is available only on HP-UX
11i v3. For detailed information about the Package Easy Deployment feature, see Using
Easy Deployment in Serviceguard and Metrocluster Environments on HP-UX 11i v3 White
paper available at http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docs —> HP Serviceguard.
The following prerequisites and limitations apply in package easy deployment for
Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA A.05.01:
Prerequisites
1. The replication pair should be created.
2. A supported version of the evainfo tool must be installed.
3. The Metrocluster version in all nodes of the cluster must have the April 2011 patch
or above.
4. The /etc/cmcluster/caeva.map file must be created and distributed. This file
is created using the smispasswd and evadiscovery tools that are a part of
Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA.
5. The SMIS servers must be up and reachable.
Limitations
1. The node name in the Command View (EVA array management tool) should be
same as the node name in the cluster configuration file.
2. The active management server should be listed in the CAEVA.map file.
Support for Cluster Verification
With Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628 and the patches listed for
HP-UX 11iv3 under “Patches Introduced for A.05.01 for the April 2011 Enhancements
(page 15), Metrocluster supports verification of its packages. By using the cmcheckconf
command, you can generate a report on the sanity of the cluster configuration along
with the Metrocluster and Site Controller packages that are configured. This feature
requires Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628. It works only on
Serviceguard version A.11.20, and is available only on HP-UX 11i v3.
