1 Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA Version A.05.01 Release Notes Announcements Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA is a Hewlett-Packard high availability product for Serviceguard customers requiring integrated disaster recovery solutions. Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA provides automated reconfiguration of HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Arrays (EVA) Series using Continuous Access. Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA Version A.05.
Support for Easy Deployment With Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628 and the patches listed for HP-UX 11i v3 under “Patches Introduced for A.05.01 for the April 2011 Enhancements” (page 15), Metrocluster supports the Package Easy Deployment feature. This feature is available from the Serviceguard Manager version B.03.10. It provides a simple way to quickly deploy Metrocluster modules in supported toolkit applications. This feature requires Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628.
Support for Modular CFS Packages With Metrocluster Data Replication Enabler Toolkit A.10.00 patch PHSS_41656, you can optionally combine all the CVM diskgroups and the CFS mountpoints required by an application that is managed by Site Aware Disaster Tolerant Architecture (SADTA) into a single package. As a result, the number of packages in the cluster reduces and manageability of Serviceguard configuration improves. This feature requires Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628 and SG-CFS A.11.

Following are the restrictions that apply to configuring Oracle RAC database using ASM in Metrocluster for RAC: • The ASM disk group must be configured with a multi-node package using SGeRAC toolkit. This ASM disk group MNP package must be configured to have a package dependency on the CRS MNP package to be up on the same node. • The RAC database MNP package must be configured to have a package dependency on the ASM disk group MNP package CRS MNP package to be up on the same node.
Serviceguard Cluster and Package Configuration Via Serviceguard Manager or System Management Homepage Starting with HP Serviceguard Manager B.03.10, available in Serviceguard A.11.20, the following Serviceguard Manager operations are supported in a Metrocluster environment: • Configuration, monitoring , and administration of Metrocluster modular packages. • Configuring, monitoring, and administration of site aware clusters.
◦ EVA 4100, 6100, 8100 — XCS v6.110, XCS v6.2xx ◦ EVA4400 — XCS 09006000 , XCS 09501x00, XCS 0952x000, XCS 0953x000 ◦ EVA6400/8400 — XCS 09501x00, XCS 0952x000, XCS 0953x000 • • Host System for HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3: ◦ HP 9000 Servers ◦ HP Integrity Servers ◦ Fibre Channel Mass Storage host adapters cabled to two Fibre Channel switches to the EVA disk array.
◦ CV EVA v9.2.1 and SMI-S EVA v9.2 ◦ CV EVA v9.3 and SMI-S EVA v9.3 CFS support in SADTA requires appropriate version of HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite software. For information on Serviceguard Storage Management Suite software versions supported, see Serviceguard/SGeRAC/SMS/Serviceguard Manager Plug-in Compatibility and Feature Matrix available at http://www.hp.com/ go/hpux-serviceguard-docs.
