Continentalclusters Version A.08.00 Release Notes, March 2013
must specify a password for this user on all nodes in the primary and recovery clusters. When
a node is no longer part of Continentalclusters configuration, remove this user from the node.
• Continentalclusters Configuration Package
Continentalclusters version A.08.00 stores configuration information in a special package on
the primary and recovery clusters. This package is named ccconfpkg and is automatically
created on the primary and recovery clusters when a Continentalclusters configuration file is
applied using the cmapplyconcl command. This package is deleted on all clusters when
the Continentalclusters configuration is removed using the cmdeleteconcl command
IMPORTANT: Do not modify, delete, start, or stop this package using Serviceguard
commands.
Support for Modular Packages
Starting with Continentalclusters Version A.08.00, HP recommends to configure packages in a
recovery group as modular style packages. The Continentalclusters monitor package on the recovery
cluster can be configured as a modular package using the Continentalclusters supplied modular
configuration file template. Other packages in the primary and recovery cluster which are configured
in a recovery group as PRIMARY_PACKAGE, RECOVERY_PACKAGE, REHEARSAL_PACKAGE,
DATA_SENDER or DATA_RECEIVER package can also be configured as modular packages using
the Serviceguard supported modules.
When using any of the pre-integrated physical replication, such as Continuous Access P9000/XP,
Continuous Access EVA, 3PAR Remote Copy or EMC Symmetrix SRDF, modular packages configured
as primary or recovery packages must include the appropriate replication specific module for the
Continentalclusters environment.
For more information on configuring modular packages in Continentalclusters, see chapter 2 of
the Designing Disaster Recovery HA Clusters using Metrocluster and Continentalclusters available
at: www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docs.
Support for Modular CFS Packages
Starting with Continentalclusters version A.08.00, Continentalclusters supports modular CFS
packages introduced in Serviceguard A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628. When the complex
workloads are configured in Continentalclusters using SADTA, in order to configure modular CFS
package, the Metrocluster Data Replication Enabler Toolkit A.10.00 patch PHSS_41656 and
SG-CFS A.11.20 patch PHSS_41674 or later, is required. With the modular CFS package support,
you can optionally combine all the CVM disk groups and the CFS mount points required by an
application into a single package. As a result, the number of packages in the cluster reduces and
manageability of Serviceguard configuration improves.

Support for Complex Workloads using Site Aware Disaster Tolerant Architecture (SADTA)
Support for Site Aware Disaster Tolerant Architecture (SADTA) is available with Continentalclusters
Version A.08.00. SADTA is used for deploying complex multi-instance workloads, such as Oracle
RAC. Complex workloads are applications that are configured using multiple interdependent
failover and multi-node packages.
