Continentalclusters Version A.08.00 Release Notes, April2011 (5900-1485)
serve as both primary and recovery cluster for different packages. In the cascading
failover configuration, the primary cluster can be a metropolitan cluster using EMC
SRDF or Continuous Access XP.
• Logical data replication of Oracle Databases is possible using Oracle Data Guard.
Serviceguard Support for Oracle Data Guard in Continentalclusters is available in
Serviceguard toolkit for Oracle Data Guard (a separately purchased product). Other
customer-selected logical data replication solutions can be implemented as well. For
more information see, HP Serviceguard Toolkit for Oracle Data Guard User's Guide
available at http://www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docs —> HP Serviceguard
Toolkit for Oracle Data Guard.
• Cluster monitoring is carried out over LAN or WAN connections. Use any LAN or
WAN connection; however, some data replication methods may require high speed
connections such as T1, T3, E3/ES or ATM leased lines or switched lines.
Support for IPv6 Protocol
Starting with Continentalclusters version A.08.00, primary and recovery clusters in
Continentalclusters can be configured with IPv6 address. Additionally, notifications
provided for cluster events can use an IPv6 address.
IMPORTANT: A mixed cluster configuration, in which one cluster is configured with
the IPv4 protocol, and the other cluster with the IPv6 protocol, is not supported.
Enhanced Security Infrastructure
Continentalclusters version A.08.00 uses a secure infrastructure. The following components
are used in Continentalclusters A.08.00:
• Continentalclusters User and Group
Continentalclusters version A.08.00 uses Secure Shell (SSH) for all inter-cluster and
node communication. A special Continentalclusters user, conclusr and group,
conclgrp are used for all communication over SSH. This Continentalclusters user
and the group are automatically created when Continentalclusters version A.08.00
is installed on a node. You must specify a password for this user on all nodes in the
primary and recovery clusters. When a node is no longer part of Continentalclusters
configuration, remove this user from the node.
• Continentalclusters Configuration Package
Continentalclusters version A.08.00 stores configuration information in a special
package on the primary and recovery clusters. This package is named ccconfpkg
and is automatically created on the primary and recovery clusters when a
Continentalclusters configuration file is applied using the cmapplyconcl command.
This package is deleted on all clusters when the Continentalclusters configuration is
removed using the cmdeleteconcl command
