Configuring Single Instance Applications in CFS/CVM Environments in Continentalclusters, November 2006
5
2 Prerequisites
Following are the prerequisites for recovering an Oracle 10g database instance over CVM or CFS
4.1 in a Continentalclusters environment:
Software Requirements
The following software must be installed on all nodes of the primary and recovery cluster:
o HP-UX 11i v2
o HP Serviceguard A.11.17
o HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Bundles that include CVM or CFS
support. (T2775BA and T2776BA)
o Oracle 10g R2 database (non RAC)
o ECMT Toolkit B.04.00
o Metrocluster Continuous Access A.06.00 or Metrocluster EMC SRDF A.05.01
o Continentalclusters A.06.00
o Oracle database installed locally on all the nodes of primary and recovery site
clusters. Refer to Oracle® Database Installation Guide 10g Release 2 (10.2) for
HP-UX PA-RISC (64-Bit) Manual for more information.
Configuration Requirements
Following are the configuration requirements that must be completed:
o The Serviceguard cluster with the SG-CFS system Multi-node package, SG-CFS-pkg, is
configured on the primary and recovery site clusters. For more information on
configuring the SG-CFS-pkg, refer to the link http://docs.hp.com/en/B3936-
90100/ch05s06.html in the Managing Serviceguard manual.
o Data replication between primary and recovery clusters is configured using HP
StorageWorks Disk Array XP series using Continuous Access XP facility replication
software or EMC Disk Array using Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF). For more
information on configuring data replication, refer to http://docs.hp.com/en/B7660-
90017/ch05.html in the Designing Disaster Tolerant High Availability Clusters
manual.
