6 Continentalclusters Recovery
1) Halt the primary cluster to simulate a disaster. Perform the following operation on the primary
cluster.
$cmhaltcl -f
The Continentalclusters recovery command is fully enabled if an alarm notification is received.
After verifying the “alarm” notification event, perform the following steps for recovery.
2) Run the vxdctl command to identify the master node in the recovery cluster.
$vxdctl –c mode
3) Run the Continentalclusters recovery command on the CVM master node
$cmrecovercl
After the above command is run the console will show the following output.
WARNING: This command will take over for the primary cluster <primary_cluster>
by starting the recovery package on the recovery cluster
<recovery_cluster>. You must follow your site disaster recovery
procedure to ensure that the primary packages on <primary_cluster>
are not running and that recovery on <recovery_cluster> is necessary.
Continuing with this command while the applications are running
on the primary cluster may result in data corruption.
Are you sure that the primary packages are not running and will
not come back, and are you certain that you want to start the
recovery packages [y/n]?y
cmrecovercl: Attempting to recover Recovery Groups from cluster cluster1
NOTE: The configuration file /etc/cmconcl/ccrac/ccrac.config for cluster
shared storage recovery exists. Data storage specified in the
file for this cluster will be prepared for this recovery process.
