HP StorageWorks Secure Path 3.0F SP4 for Active-Active disk arrays provides automatic I/O path
failover, failback, recovery, and load balancing for host systems configured with multiple host adapters
and connections to disk arrays.

Features
Secure Path for Active-Active disk arrays provides enhanced data availability with the following
features:

The autopath recover command has been replaced with the autopath monitor command.
• Automatic path failover to an alternate path
• Automatic path recovery after failed path is serviced
• I/O load balancing over multiple paths
• Command line interface (CLI) for Secure Path management
• Ability to reestablish previous load balancing policy after reboot through the CLI
• Ability to discover the SAN configuration changes (such as addition or deletion of devices and
paths) without rebooting
• SAN boot support for Secure Path Active-Active devices, if configured under LVM
• Ability to retry the failed I/O on non-LVM VxFS devices
• Supports array, array type, and LUN exclusion or inclusion for Active-Active devices
• Supports up to 32 paths to an end LUN
• Allows the coexistence of Active-Passive disk arrays and Active-Active disk arrays
• Connects the Active-Passive disk arrays and the Active-Active disk arrays using the same set of
HBAs
