# spmgr passwd
This command provides security on the server side to restrict client access.
Syntax:
spmgr passwd/password <newpassword>
NOTE:
You cannot execute the spmgr passwd command remotely.
Secure Path for Active-Passive remote management
Remote management executes spmgr commands on any server in which Secure Path for Active-Passive
disk arrays is installed.
This section describes the following:
• Installing remote management
• Removing a client from the server
• Remote spmgr execution
Installing remote management
To install remote management, complete the following steps:
1. Copy spmgr from the /sbin directory (in which Secure Path for Active-Passive disk arrays
resides) to the remote host.
2. In the local system, add the remote client's name by entering the following command:
spmgr client add client_name
The client_name is the name of the client host that is managed by Secure Path for Active-
Passive disk arrays.
For example:
# spmgr client add xyz.hp.com
The client add command enables the remote client to communicate with the server in which
Secure Path for Active-Passive disk arrays is installed and is to be managed.
Removing a client from the server
To remove access to a remote host for managing the local host, enter the following command in the
local host:
spmgr client delete client_name
The client_name is the name of the client to be deleted from the host that manages Secure Path
for Active-Passive disk arrays.
For example:
# spmgr client delete xyz.hp.com
The client delete command prevents the remote client from communicating with the server on
which Secure Path for Active-Passive disk arrays is installed and managed.
