Installation and Reference Guide HP StorageWorks Secure Path 3.0F Service Pack 4 for HP-UX 11i v1.0 and 11i v2.0 (5697-8001, March 2009)

Syntax:
# spmgr restore -d device
Example:
# spmgr restore –d c21t0d2
# spmgr restore -r WWNN
This command restores a preferred path to the specified storage system.
Syntax:
# spmgr restore -r WWNN
Example:
# spmgr restore –r 5000-1FE1-0010-5B00
# spmgr restore all
This command restores all LUNs to their preferred paths and preferred controller. If there is no preferred
controller, the current controller becomes the default controller. If there is no preferred path, the current
path becomes the default path.
Syntax:
# spmgr restore all
quiesce command
Quiescing an object means to:
Move all active I/O from an object to an alternate path
Mark all paths to the object as quiesced to temporarily remove the object from use
The quiesce command provides the following options:
# spmgr quiesce -a HBA
# spmgr quiesce -c controller_serial_number
# spmgr quiesce -p path_instance
Only the adapters and controllers are supported for Secure Path 3.0F SP4 for Active-Passive disk
arrays. Quiescing individual path is supported to allow other fabric infrastructures, such as switches,
to remove and replace.
Syntax:
# spmgr quiesce [option]
Options:
-a <adapter>
-c <controller_ser_num>
-p <path instance>
# spmgr quiesce -a HBA
This command moves all active I/O using this HBA to paths available on other HBAs. The paths of
the specified HBA are marked as quiesced and no further I/O is sent along those paths until the HBA
returns to service with the corresponding restart command.
You can verify these actions by entering the following command to view the current path state.
