Description
The HP Scripting Tools for Windows PowerShell includes a set of PowerShell cmdlets that provide
configuration management for HP hardware. This release provides a set of cmdlets for managing and
configuring HP iLO 3 and iLO 4 using PowerShell scripts. It provides a native PowerShell interface
that simplifies writing scripts. These cmdlets provide out-of-band automation from a Windows
Management workstation directly to iLO systems.
Operating environment
Windows Management workstations that have .NET 4.0 or later and the Windows Management
Framework 3.0 or later (including PowerShell 3.0 or later) installed.
Devices supported
These cmdlets allow scripting and automation of administrative functions for the supported management
endpoints. The following items are the manageable endpoints currently supported:
• iLO 3
• iLO 4
Operating systems
The HP iLO cmdlets can be installed on Windows operating systems that have .NET 4.0 or later and
Windows Management Framework 3.0 or later installed. This includes the following:
• Microsoft Windows 7 SP1
• Microsoft Windows 8
• Microsoft Windows 8.1
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
• Microsoft Windows Server 2012
• Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
Languages
This release supports English only. All HP PowerShell cmdlets have built-in Help functions that document
syntax and usage examples.
Enhancements
This release includes the following enhancements.
Added new cmdlets
The following cmdlets have been added:
• Get-HPiLODriveInfo—Gets the drive details from the server. Used on iLO 3 systems only.
• Get-HPiLOProfileApplyResult—Supports the new Invoke-HPiLOProfileApply
cmdlet.
• Get-HPiLOVRM—Gets Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) details from the server, if available.
• Invoke-HPiLOProfileApply—Formerly the Add-HPiLOProfile cmdlet, the functionality
fits the new name more closely.
