OCFS2 Integration with HP Serviceguard for Linux Administrator's Guide, Second Edition, May 2009
independent redundant network connections. As a workaround, multiple network interfaces
can be bonded using Linux channel bonding and presented to OCFS2 as a single interface.
HP Serviceguard must be configured to send heartbeat only on this bonded interface. Multiple
individual heartbeat networks for HP Serviceguard is not supported in this integrated
environment as Serviceguard needs to see the same heartbeat failure that is seen by OCFS2.
This bonding is the only way to achieve heartbeat redundancy.
IMPORTANT: The client network which is shown as a single network (eth2) in Figure 2-1
(page 16) can also be configured with another network HBA as a channel bonded interface
for redundancy. However, HP Serviceguard for Linux must not be configured to exchange
heartbeat through this public network.
Installing OCFS2 in a Serviceguard for Linux Environment
This section elaborates on the procedures for installing OCFS2 in a Serviceguard environment.
It is assumed that HP Serviceguard for Linux is already installed on the cluster.
Complete the following procedure to install OCFS2:
1. Install the OCFS2 tools rpm package that is available on the Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise
Server (10) media.
For example:
On a 64-bit SLES10 SP1 system, run the following command to install the rpm,
ocfs2-tools-1.2.3-0.7.x86_64.rpm:
# rpm -iUvh ocfs2-tools-1.2.3-0.7.x86_64.rpm
2. Download the file, SG-OCFS2-package from http://www.software.hp.com.
Alternatively, you can search for SGLXCFS on http://www.software.hp.com to access the
SG-OCFS2-package file.
3. Install the SG-OCFS2-package that matches the version of the operating system running
on the nodes.
For example, to install the SG-OCFS2–package on SUSE 10, run the following command:
# rpm –Uvh sgocfs2-A.02.00-0.sles10.noarch.rpm
Once you install the SG-OCFS2-package, you can verify the installation by running the following
command:
#rpm -qa| grep sgocfs2
In the output, the product name, sgocfs2-A.02.00-0, will be listed. The presence of this file
verifies that the installation is successful.
Rolling Upgrade of HP Serviceguard
Version A.02.00 of the OCFS toolkit supports HP Serviceguard A.11.19. For more information
on the features of HP Serviceguard A.11.19, see the Managing HP Serviceguard for Linux guide
available at http://docs.hp.com.
This version of the toolkit is also compatible with HP Serviceguard A.11.18. If you have installed
A.02.00 and have configured packages with HP Serviceguard for Linux A.11.18, and later migrated
to HP Serviceguard A.11.19, you must manually upgrade the OCFS toolkit to recognize the
updated HP Serviceguard version.
To upgrade the toolkit version, complete the following procedure:
