Benefits of OCFS2 in an HP Serviceguard for Linux Environment
Following are the benefits of the OCFS2 with HP Serviceguard for Linux integration:
• Support for a clustered file system.
HP Serviceguard for Linux does not include support for any clustered file systems on SUSE
Enterprise Linux. It currently supports non-clustered file systems such as reiserfs, ext2, and
ext3 on SUSE. With this integration, HP Serviceguard for Linux will include support for a
clustered file system on SUSE Enterprise Linux.
• Start and stop the OCFS2 cluster stack on multiple nodes simultaneously.
• A set of administrative utilities that ease the process of configuring and managing an
integrated environment.
These utilities are similar to the CFS administrative utilities on HP-UX.
• Automated process of configuring the OCFS2 cluster and cluster resources. No manual
intervention is required.
• Existing HP Serviceguard resources, such as system multi-node packages and multi-node
packages, can be used to control OCFS2 resources.
