Support for EMC SRDF features
Support for Synchronous Replication mode
Metrocluster with EMC SRDF for Linux version B.01.00.00 includes support for synchronous
replication mode. EMC SRDF software offers synchronous and asynchronous data transfer mode
between the storage systems. Synchronous data transfer offer the highest levels of data availability.
With synchronous operations, both primary and secondary copies are identical and concurrent
at all times. Synchronous replication is appropriate when data currency is critical while recovering
a business application.
Support for Asynchronous Mode
Configure the EMC SRDF device group in asynchronous replication mode when application response
time is critical over the loss of data.
In the asynchronous mode, host writes are performed only on the primary storage array, and the
host write is acknowledged as soon as the data is written on the primary storage array.
Supported volume managers with Metrocluster SRDF for Linux
The following volume managers are supported with EMC SRDF disk group for Linux.
LVM
For more information on supported versions of the volume managers, see Serviceguard Disaster
Recovery Products Compatibility and Feature Matrix (EMC SRDF disk group) available at http://
www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
Support for Continentalclusters
Support for EMC SRDF replication in Continentalclusters
EMC SRDF replication is supported with Continentalclusters B.01.00.00 and Metrocluster SRDF
for Linux B.01.00.00. For more information, see Continentalclusters for Linux Version B.01.00.00
Release Notes available at www.hp.com/go/linux-serviceguard-docs.
Support for Serviceguard features
Support for Serviceguard A.11.20.xx
NOTE: A.11.20.xx refers to Serviceguard version A.11.20.20 or A.11.20.21.
Metrocluster for Linux supports HP Serviceguard version A.11.20.xx. All the HP Serviceguard
configuration restrictions are also applicable to Metrocluster. All the features available with
Serviceguard A.11.20.xx are supported in a Metrocluster configuration unless explicitly stated.
