HP Serviceguard for Linux Version A.11.18 Release Notes, 2nd Edition, March 2009

The real problem is that IPv6 is not enabled: cmmodnet did not check whether
IPv6 was enabled on the system before trying to add the address.
What is the solution? cmmodnet now checks whether IPv6 is enabled on the system
before trying to add the address.
JAGag48606 (SR8606496688): cmmigratepkg missing PEV and external script
permission
What was the problem? The-e option of cmmigratepkg should generate Package
Environment Variables (PEVs) but it does not. (See “Migrating Legacy to Modular
Packages” (page 28) for more information about cmmigratepkg.)
In addition, the permissions on external scripts output by cmmigratepkg were
wrongly set to 555, giving everyone read and execute permission; 744 is correct,
giving only read permission to users other than the owner, who must be the root
user.
What is the solution? cmmigratepkg now generates PEVs correctly and sets the
correct permissions.
JAGag48756 (SR8606496838): Serviceguard minimum lan requirements not updated
for VM detection information
What was the problem? When a cluster is configured using virtual machine guests
as nodes, the following warning may appear during the network validation phase
of the Serviceguard commands cmapplyconf, cmcheckconf and cmquerycl.
Minimum network configuration requirements for the cluster have not been met.
Minimum network configuration requirements are:
- 2 or more heartbeat networks OR
- 1 heartbeat network with local switch (HP-UX Only) OR
- 1 heartbeat network using APA with 2 trunk members (HP-UX Only) OR
- 1 heartbeat network using bonding (mode 1) with 2 slaves (Linux Only).
The warning really means that the minimum requirements are not met at the
immediate network level. The problem in this case is that Serviceguard cannot validate
that APA or NIC teaming is configured on the host.
What is the solution? You can ignore the warning in a VM configuration if there is
one heartbeat network on the guest, backed by a network on the host using APA
with two trunk members as in the third case listed in the warning text (HPVM),
or using NIC teaming (bonding) as in the fourth case listed in the warning text
(VMware ESX Server).
JAGag48881 (SR8606496963): cmmigrate does not handle virtual machine package
script updates
What was the problem? When converting legacy to modular packages, the package
migration utility cmmigratepkg generated the following warning messages if it
found the SGLX_VM parameter (used for packages running on virtual machines):
