HP Serviceguard for Linux Version A.11.18 Release Notes, 2nd Edition, March 2009
• One or more clusters running Serviceguard version A.11.15 through A.11.16.
• Serviceguard Manager version A.05.01 installed on a Windows, HP-UX or Linux
management workstation.
Installation Requirements:
Requires Serviceguard Manager installation on each management workstation.
Launching Serviceguard Manager from Windows Workstations:
There are 2 ways to launch Serviceguard Manager in Windows:
• By default, a shortcut icon is placed on your desktop (labeled SG Manager). Click
it to launch the program. When installed, it has the simple command without
options. You will be prompted to enter the options once the program opens.
• From the Start menu, select Programs -> Serviceguard Manager. This launches the
simple command, with no options.
Scenario 3 - Web-based multi-cluster management
Scenario 3 applies if you will be administering two or more HP-UX or Linux clusters
running Serviceguard version A.11.15.01 through A.11.18.
With the restrictions spelled out below, you can use HP SIM to discover Serviceguard
clusters running HP-UX or Linux (including a mixed environment in which both types
of cluster are running) and manage those clusters via the applicable version of
Serviceguard Manager.
Requirements:
• Serviceguard Manager version A.05.01 and HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM)
5.10 or higher must be installed on a Windows, HP-UX or Linux management
server.
(Serviceguard Manager A.05.01 provides the means of integrating the A.05.01 and
B.01.0x versions of Serviceguard Manager.)
NOTE: You must ensure that the short (unqualified) hostname of each
Serviceguard node can be resolved by DNS.
See the Serviceguard Manager A.05.01 release notes (B8325-90061) for detailed
instructions.
• Serviceguard Manager B.01.01 and System Management Homepage (SMH) must
be installed on each node of each cluster running Serviceguard version A.11.18
(for HP-UX or Linux).
