HP Serviceguard for Linux Version A.11.18 Release Notes, 2nd Edition, March 2009
• A new command, cmdisklock, can be used to repair or replace a lock LUN; see
“Replacing a Lock LUN” in Chapter 8 of Managing Serviceguard for Linux, and the
cmdisklock manpage, for more information.
• Serviceguard for Linux version A.11.18 introduces initial support for two
application interfaces based on the Service Availability Forum Specification (SAF,
saforum.org). These are for use only by ISVs (Independent Software Vendors)
with special support contracts.
Ask your HP Service Representative to contact the Serviceguard for Linux
development team for more information on these interfaces.
Changes First Introduced in Earlier Releases
The following important changes have either been introduced since the previous edition
of the Serviceguard Release Notes was published, or may affect the upgrade from an
earlier release.
• As of A.11.16, Serviceguard uses Access Control Policies to control access to, and
administrative control over, the cluster.
See “Access changes as of A.11.16” (page 37).
What’s Not in this Release
• Serviceguard A.11.18 does not support Red Hat 3 or SUSE SLES 9.
The last version that did was A.11.16.08. Serviceguard A.11.18 does support Red
Hat 4 and 5 and SUSE SLES 10.
• The cmresmond daemon is no longer used for disk monitoring.
Disk monitoring is now managed by cmresserviced, which has a new option,
[-t, --poll-interval <seconds>]
See “Creating a Disk Monitor Configuration” in Chapter 6 of Managing Serviceguard
for Linux for more information.
See “Announcements” (page 11) for more information.
