HP Serviceguard for Linux Version A.11.18 Release Notes, 2nd Edition, March 2009
executing this command outside the context of a package; see the entry for
cmmodnet in Appendix A of Managing Serviceguard for Linux, and the cmmodnet
manpage.
— Serviceguard for Linux now supports IPv6 addresses, for data links only, and
with some additional restrictions. See Appendix E of Managing Serviceguard for
Linux for details.
NOTE: When you use IPv6 addresses with bonding, the following message
is written to syslog about every 10 seconds:
ICMPv6 NA: someone advertises our address on bond0!
This is a result of using IPv6 and bonding and is not related to Serviceguard.
The message does not indicate any problem in the operation of the Linux system
or Serviceguard.
• You can now change cluster timing-configuration parameters while the cluster is
running; see “New Online Timing-Configuration Capabilities” (page 36).
• Hostnames for Serviceguard cluster nodes can be up to 39 characters (bytes) long.
(The former limit was 31 characters.)
• You can configure an alternate subnet for communication between the cluster
nodes and a Quorum Server. See “Alternate Quorum Server Subnet” (page 36).
• A quorum server can now support up to 150 clusters comprising up to 300 nodes.
The previous limits were 50 clusters and 100 nodes. The new limits are supported
in Quorum Server versions A.02.00.04 and later.
• There are new Serviceguard demons (see Chapter 3 of Managing Serviceguard for
Linux for more information about Serviceguard demons):
— Lock LUN Daemon: cmdisklockd
If a lock LUN is being used, cmdisklockd runs on each node in the cluster
and is started by cmcld when the node joins the cluster.
— Network Manager Daemon: cmnetd
This daemon monitors the health of cluster networks, and handles the addition
and deletion of relocatable package IP addresses, for both IPv4 and IPv6
addresses.
— Utility Daemon: cmlockd
Runs on every node on which cmcld is running. It maintains the active and
pending cluster resource locks.
— Cluster SNMP Subagent (optionally running): cmsnmpd
