On Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5:
If Serviceguard A.11.19.xx is installed on the node, first you must upgrade to Serviceguard
A.11.20.20. For information about upgrading to Serviceguard A.11.20.20, see “Rolling upgrade
from A.11.19.X to A.11.20.20”
After Serviceguard is upgraded to the A.11.20.20 version:
1. Verify whether xdc rpm is installed on the node:
#rpm -q xdc
xdc-A.01.01-0.rhel5.noarch
2. Uninstall the xdc rpm:
#rpm -e xdc-A.01.01-0.rhel5.noarch
3. Download the patch from the HP Support Centre at http://www.hp.com/go/hpsc. For more
information about patches, see “Serviceguard for Linux patches (updates)” (page 12).
4. Use the appropriate tool to extract the patch file.
5. Run the sgupdate script and follow the instructions provided in the install file to install
the rpm.
On SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11:
If Serviceguard A.11.19.xx is installed on the node, first you must upgrade to Serviceguard
A.11.20.20. For information about upgrading to Serviceguard A.11.20.20, see “Rolling upgrade
from A.11.19.X to A.11.20.20”.
After Serviceguard is upgraded to the A.11.20.20 version:
1. Verify whether xdc rpm is installed on the node:
#rpm -q xdc
xdc-A.01.02-0.suse11.noarch
2. Download the patch from the HP Support Centre at http://www.hp.com/go/hpsc. For more
information about patches, see “Serviceguard for Linux patches (updates)” (page 12).
3. Use the appropriate tool to extract the patch file.
4. Run the sgupdate script and follow the instructions provided in the install file to install
the rpm.
6.15 Verifying installation
After you install serviceguard-xdc, run the following command to ensure that the software is installed:
# rpm -qa | grep serviceguard-xdc
In the output, the product name, serviceguard-xdc -A.11.20.20-0 must be listed.
6.16 Rolling upgrade in Serviceguard Manager
Serviceguard Manager does not support rolling upgrade.
1. Ensure to complete the steps mentioned under “Pre-installation checklist for Serviceguard
Manager” (page 14)
2. Rolling upgrade to Serviceguard Manager B.03.31.10 is not supported and users need to
uninstall the existing version of the following products:
• Serviceguard Manager
• sgmgr-tomcat
3. Reinstall the following products from Serviceguard Linux A.11.20.20 bundle:
NOTE: You must remove and install HPSMH before reinstalling the below mentioned rpms
if the HPSMH version is older than 7.1.0-16.
