HP storage replication products for the mainframe environment
HP P9000/XP Continuous Access software is a controller-to-controller replication method that
supports mainframe and open systems applications. For information about HP P9000/XP Continuous
Access software and support of replication over long distances, including firmware specifications,

Certified third-party WDM and FCIP products
This section provides information about HP-certified third-party products.
Certified third-party WDM products
HP supports HP P9000/XP Continuous Access software on all WDM products (including DWDM
and CWDM) certified by the vendor for equivalent HP models.
HP allows third-party WDM products to connect to an HP FICON SAN if they are certified for
FICON by the FICON director vendor. HP does not provide support for third-party WDM devices.
NOTE: HP supports CWDM products that the director vendor supports for SFPs only. For
information about HP-supported standard SFPs (non-CWDM), see the HP director model QuickSpecs.
• B-series products—HP supports all Brocade WDM-certified products for the B-series switch or
router model number. Contact an HP storage representative for the equivalent HP switch
models. See the Brocade compatibility matrix at http://www.brocade.com/
data-center-best-practices/resource-center/index.page.
• C-series products—HP supports all Cisco WDM-certified products for the C-series switch model
number. Cisco model numbers and HP model numbers are equivalent.
Certified third-party FCIP products
HP supports HP P9000/XP Continuous Access software on all FCIP gateways certified by the
vendor for equivalent HP models.
HP allows third-party FCIP gateways to connect to an HP FICON SAN if they are certified for
FICON by the FICON director vendor. HP does not provide support for third-party FCIP gateways.
• B-series products— HP Supports all Brocade gateways listed by Brocade as supporting FICON
over FCIP. Contact an HP storage representative for the equivalent HP models. See the Brocade

• C-series products—HP supports all Cisco gateways listed by Cisco as supporting FICON over
FCIP. Cisco model numbers and HP model numbers are equivalent.
Certified third-party Fibre Channel over SONET products
HP allows third-party Fibre Channel over SONET gateways to connect to an HP FICON SAN if
they are certified for FICON by the FICON director vendor. HP does not provide support for
third-party Fibre Channel over SONET gateways.
Certified third-party Fibre Channel over ATM products
HP allows third-party Fibre Channel over ATM gateways to connect to an HP FICON SAN if they
are certified for FICON by the FICON director vendor. HP does not provide support for third-party
Fibre Channel over ATM gateways.
