Leave page filing (swap file) on. This is an advanced virtual memory setting that is enabled by
default. Turning off page filing will significantly slow the performance of the RIP.
Relicense
After you restart the RIP following a software update, you may need to relicense the software.
8. If prompted by the RIP, locate and write down the Host ID, located in the Licensing pane of the RIP “home page.
The Host ID number is a series of numbers and letters, as shown in the Licensing pane of the RIP “home page.
9. Locate and write down the serial number of your printer, which is located on the silver label on the printer.
10.Locate and write down the HP invoice number for your printer.
11.Request a license key from HP Customer Service at +1 952.943.5781 or +1 800.925.0563, OR via e-mail at
cs.swlicense@hp.com, OR register online at: http://www.colorspan.com/support/swlicense.asp by clicking the
Request a license button in the Licensing pane.
If you supply the RIP Host ID, printer serial number, and invoice number, the license key file is sent to you as an e-
mail attachment.
12.When you receive the license key, copy it to the folder on the RIP computer, c:\program files\kodiak\
The file must be named kodiak.lic. If your e-mail software renames the file when you copy the attachment to the
RIP computer, rename it back to kodiak.lic.
13.Restart the RIP.
Your new license is shown in the Licensing pane.
Note
After licensing your RIP, to remove the watermark on print jobs created by an unlicensed RIP, re-
RIP the job. This can be done by changing the sizing method, size, or resolution.
