DisplayMaker Legacy ColorMark+ - User Guide
4-8 Editing Profiles
9. Set the Non-Primary Colors.
These options appear only for profiles that contain Blue,
Orange, Red, or Green. They are used to specify how these
Gamut+ (nonprimary) colors are used.
The dialog box allows you to select a preset curve, or select
Custom and adjust:
◆ Maximum/Minimum Lightness — shift the range downward
to eliminate the appearance of contrasting dots of color in
lighter areas. To eliminate the color altogether from printed
output, enter zero for the Maximum and Minimum values.
You can use this technique to yield, for example, a five-color
profile from a six-color profile, since CMYK plus one Gamut+
color cannot be created automatically, but a profile with
CMYK plus two Gamut+ colors can be created. (See page 2-4
for further information.)
◆ Maximum/Minimum Chroma — to eliminate the appearance
of color dots in neutral (gray) areas, use a higher Maximum
and Minimum Chroma values. This restricts the use of this
color to the high chroma (saturated) region of the L*a*b*
space.
