Configuring HP SMI-S EVA credentials for server-based management systems
Consider the following scenarios:
• HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager automatically detects the presence of an HP P6000
Command View server-based management system. If the HP P6000 Command View
server-based management system is detected, no configuration changes are needed.
• In an environment where HP P6000 Command View is configured to serve only requests on
an IPv6 address, then the IPv6 address for the local server-based HP P6000 Command View
must be configured manually using the array-based management system steps. For more
information, see “Configuring HP SMI-S EVA credentials for array-based management systems”
(page 23).
• If the local server-based HP P6000 Command View management of storage systems is not
required in HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager, click Delete to remove the management
system entry.
Configuring HP SMI-S EVA credentials for array-based management systems
To add or delete an HP P6000 Command View array-based management system:
1. Select Tools→Configure from the HP P6000 Replication Solutions Manager Software.
2. Select P6000 EVA Management Servers in the navigation pane.
3. Click Configure SMI-S to configure SMI-S credentials. For more information on SMI-S EVA
credentials, see the HP P6000 Command View Software Suite Installation Guide. If the SMI-S
EVA credentials have been configured correctly, the Add and Delete options are enabled.
4. Do one of the following:
• Click Add to add a new HP P6000 Command View array-based management system,
and then enter the IP address and credentials.
• Select the entry to be deleted in the list of Management servers, and then click Delete.
Communicating across a firewall
If an enabled host is behind a firewall, you must open the port that the management server uses
for host agent communications. Use your firewall product to open the port for TCP communication
(not User Datagram Protocol [UDP]). The default host agent port is 852.
You can browse to the replication manager server across a firewall using a virtual private network
(VPN) tunnel.
Changing the host agent port
By default, host agents use port 852 on the management server. If port 852 is in use, you must
select an available port and configure the host agent to use that port. To do this, you must edit two
files:
1. Edit the hprsmha.cfg file:
a. Locate SERVER_PORT and replace 852 with the desired port number.
b. Remove the comment marker from the SERVER_PORT statement.
