Dynamic capacity management feature that enables you to extend (increase) or shrink (decrease)
the size of a host volume without disrupting host I/O.

JNDI Java Naming and Directory Interface.
job A repeatable custom script that automates replication tasks. A job can be simple (for example,
create a DR group) or complex (for example, perform cascaded replication). Jobs can be run
from the GUI, from the command line, from batch files, or by a scheduler.

JRMP Java Remote Method Protocol.
JVM Java Virtual Machine.

LDM Logical Device Manager.
license key A WWN-encoded sequence that is obtained from the license key fulfillment website.
LTU License-to-use.
LUN Logical Unit Number. A SCSI convention used to identify elements. The host sees a virtual disk
as a LUN. The LUN address a user assigns to a virtual disk for a particular host will be the LUN
at which that host will see the virtual disk.
LVM Logical Volume Manager.

A server on which HP management software is installed.
mirrorclone A copy of a virtual disk that is continually updated to reflect changes in the source. When first
created (and whenever re-synchronized by an action or command), the content of a mirrorclone
is synchronized to the source virtual disk.

NIC Network interface card. A device that handles communication between a device and other devices
on a network.
NTP Network Time Protocol. A protocol that enables the storage system’s time and date to be obtained
from a network-attached server, keeping multiple hosts and storage devices synchronized.

POST Power-On Self Test.

RMI Remote Method Invocation. A set of protocols that enables Java objects to communicate remotely
with other Java objects.

SAN Storage area network. A network of storage devices available to one or more servers.
