HP XP24000/XP20000 Virtual LVI/LUN (VLL) and Volume Shredder User Guide (T5214-96094, November 2011)

The VLL operations include: Volume to Space, Install CV, Volume Initialize, and Make Volume.
The Volume to Space function formats one or more of the LDEVs on a selected Virtual Device
(VDEV) into free space. This free space can be used to install one or more variable-sized
volumes (CVs) using the Install CV function or remain as free space for future usage.
The Volume Initialize function removes all CVs under a Virtual LVI/LUN volume, and reformats
the Virtual LVI/LUN volume as a VDEV. You can delete all FVs and CVs in a VDEV, and then
create new user-defined CVs by using the Make Volume function.
