Even if the ShadowImage for Mainframe S-VOL already has three T-VOLs, you can create up to
16 pairs by specifying the volumes of Version 2 relationships as the copy source.
In the following cases, you cannot create ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs (see (page 55)):
• The S-VOL of the Version 2 relationship and the T-VOL of the ShadowImage for Mainframe
pair are shared.
• The T-VOL of the Version 2 relationship and the T-VOL of the ShadowImage for Mainframe
pair are shared.
• The T-VOL of the Version 2 relationship and the S-VOL of the ShadowImage for Mainframe
pair are shared.
When you use Version 2, you cannot create pairs sharing the volumes shown in (page 55).

Using Version 2 with TrueCopy for Mainframe
• Volumes that can be shared:
The following table shows the combination of volumes when you use Version 2 with TrueCopy
for Mainframe. Basically, TrueCopy for Mainframe includes both TrueCopy Synchronous for
Mainframe and TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe. For details about the Preserve
Mirror Flashcopy function, see (page 48).
