Commands for Version 2 Operations
Version 2 supports the PPRC TSO, DFSMSdss, ICKDSF, and ANTRQST Macro commands to
enable you to perform Version 2 operations from zSeries and S/390 host systems. The operating
system versions that support Version 2 are OS/390 V2R10 and z/OS V1.1 and higher. In addition,
Version 2 also runs on the operating system z/VM V5R3 and higher. An appropriate PTF is
necessary for each.
This user's guide provides instructions for using only those commands that are necessary to perform
Version 2 operations. For detailed information on using the PPRC TSO commands, DFSMSdss
commands, ICKDSF commands, and ANTRQST Macro commands, see the IBM user
documentation.
• To use the PPRC TSO commands, you must add the command names to the AUTHCMD
PARM of IKJTSOxx, which is a member of SYS1.PARMLIB, because the host system is protected
by RACF.
• Version 2 supports VSAM datasets. However, when the user specifies attributes for the copy
source extents that differ from those specified for the copy target extents, DFSMSdss invokes
a different program (such as IDCAMS), and, as a result, Version 2 may not be able to use
the VSAM datasets.
