When you use a Version 2 S-VOL as a Universal Replicator for Mainframe P-VOL and the

status of the Universal Replicator for Mainframe pair is suspend, you can perform a Reverse

Restore or Fast Reverse Restore.

• When you use a Version 2 T-VOL as a Universal Replicator for Mainframe P-VOL

When you use a Version 2 T-VOL as a Universal Replicator for Mainframe P-VOL, you can

use it regardless of the status of the Universal Replicator for Mainframe pair.

CAUTION: If a Version 2 volume and a Universal Replicator for Mainframe volume cannot be

shared, the host may receive a report that a Version 2 T-VOL is a PPRC P-VOL.

Using Version 2 with Concurrent Copy or Compatible XRC

“Whether a Version 2 Volume Can be Used as a Concurrent Copy/Compatible XRC Volume”

(page 62) describes the combination of volumes when you use Version 2 with Concurrent Copy

or Compatible XRC.

two programs and will be destroyed.

is Used as a Concurrent Copy/Compatible XRC Volume” (page 62) describes whether or not

Reverse Restore and Fast Reverse Restore can be performed when a Version 2 volume is used as

a Concurrent Copy or Compatible XRC volume.
