An option must be selected in Business Continuity Manager, although it is not necessary to select
an option in RAID Manager. However, no options can make an XP Continuous Access volume
prohibit Read access. For details of each option, see the HP RAID Manager User Guide or the HP
Business Continuity Manager Software User Guide.

CAUTION: When I/O is required from the server while the split command is in process, the
microprocessor with the port connected to the corresponding host path is blockaded and the data
consistency of the corresponding consistency group will not be ensured. If the blockade has
occurred, resynchronize the corresponding consistency group and perform the split command
again.
To maintain the data consistency between XP Continuous Access Synchronous pairs and TrueCopy
for Mainframe Synchronous pairs on each of the S-VOLs and the R-VOLs in the XP Continuous
Access Synchronous consistency group, all pair status must be as follows.
• XP Continuous Access Synchronous pairs: PAIR
• TrueCopy for Mainframe Synchronous pairs: Duplex
Perform the pair splitting operation to the corresponding group after making all pair status mentioned
above if there are pairs in a status other than PAIR or Duplex.
