About HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software
HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software is a bundle of software products that provides
web-based volume management, resource allocation, access control, and data security for your XP
disk array. The bundle includes the following features:
Volume Management — Configure and manage data volumes for the most effective use of your
XP disk array.
Resource Allocation — Partition array resources to isolate applications, reserve cache memory for
your most frequently accessed data, and control host port usage so your most critical applications
have the port bandwidth they need.
Access Control — Configure, manage, and secure all host access to the XP disk array so you have
efficient access to your data.
Data Security — Enhance data integrity in Oracle environments, create read-only volumes for
archiving and data retention, and securely delete data when necessary.
When you purchase an XP disk array:
For open systems environments, HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software is required to enable
basic configuration and security.
For mainframe-only environments, HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software is optional.
However, HP XP Array Manager Software includes useful mainframe volume management and
security capabilities.
This document describes the component products of the HP StorageWorks XP Array Manager Software
bundle.
