When the FCESTABL comma nd with the XTNTLTS parameter specified is executed, o nly the data on the
copy source extent(s) specified by the XTNTLTS parameter is copied to the copy target extent(s) specified
by the XTNTLTS pa rameter. For example, when you copy only dataset 2, the copy o peration processes
as
shown in Figure 40 on page 80.

Note: When you establish a Version 2 dataset relationship per extent for a volume with CATALOG, there
will be a write operation from the host on both the VTOC and CATALOG.
To perform dataset copying by using the FCESTABL c
ommand:
1. By using the VTOC list stored in the S-VOL, check the VTO C (INDEX, VTOC, and so on) and the
position of the extent (CCHH, size) used for the dataset copy operation.
2. Create the copy target dataset on the T-VOL.
3. Acquire the VTO C list stored in the T-VOL.
4. Set the T-VOL to offline, or set the ONLINTGT parameter of the FCESTA BL command to YES
before proceeding to step 5.
5. Execute the FCESTABL command with the XTNTLST
parameter.
