Operations

This chapter descr ibes how to operate Version 2 .

Commands for Version 2 Operations

Version 2 supports both TSO PPRC commands and DFSMSdss commands to enable you to perform

Version 2 ope

rations from zSeries and S/390 host systems. The operating system versions that suppor t

Version 2 are

OS/390 V2R10 and z/OS V1R0 and higher. An appropriate PTF is necessary for each.

This user’s

guide provides only the instructions for using commands that are necessary to perform Version

2operation

s. For detailed information on using the TSO PPRC and the DFSMSdss commands, see the

IBM user documents.

Notes:

• To use the PP

RC TSO commands, you must add the command names to the AUTHCMD PARM of

IKJTSOxx, which is a member of SYS1.PARMLI B, because the host system is protected by RACF.

• Version 2 supports VSAM datasets. However, when the user speciﬁes attributes for the copy

source ext

ents that

differ from those speciﬁed for the copy target extents, DFSMSdss invokes

adiffere

nt program (such as IDC AMS), and, as a result, Version 2 may not be able to use

the

VSAM datasets.

The following commands are the PPRC TSO commands and the DFSMSdss commands that are available

for V ersion 2:

Settin g Options

The Option window (see Figure 32 on page 72) allows you to specify the options to expand Version 2

operations.

To set options:

1. Display the Option window.

Note:

If you are already displaying another window, click the Option tab. For information

about how to display the Option window directly by starting up Remote Web Console, see the

HitachiShadowImageforz/OSUser'sGuide.

2. Select the check box of the option you want to set.

Notes:

•

For d etailed information about options, see “Selecting Prior Operations”onpage63.

• If you do not want to set any options, clear all check boxes in the Select Option(s) box.

3. Click Apply.

You can now perform Version 2 operations with the speciﬁed option.
