7. Set the devices used by Version 1 back to online.
8. Execute the devserv com m and with the VALIDATE option of QDASD to the devices in the
subsystem.

By executing t
his command, you will b e able to view the information for the direct access
memory device 4200 and the magnetic disk controller (DASD). Based on the displayed
information, update the information for the expanded functions maintained in the storage of the
host processor. By these operations, the host recognizes that Version 2 is supported.
9. Establish Ve
rsion 2 relationships.
10. Check that all the Version 2 relationships you wanted to cre ate are created.
You can use Remote Web Console or the FCQUERY command to check if all the
Version 2 rel
ationships are created. For details about the FCQUERY command, see
“Viewing Information for Version 2 Relationships” on page 96.
Notes:
• You need to pe
rform the offline/online operation once to one device used for Version 2 in
each CU.
• If there remains any Version 1 relationship, you cannot uninstall Version 1 features and software.
In

even if you install Version 2, its features will not be available, and the features of
Version 1 will be per formed. To use the features of Version 2, make sure that you delete all
the
Version 1 relationships.
• Even if the
license is expired, if a ny Version 1 relationships remain, Version 1 features will be
performed instead of Version 2. To use the features of Version 2, make sure that you delete all
the
Version 1 relationships. Note that even if the license for Version 1 is expired, you can still
delete the
Version 1 relationships.
Uninstalling Version 2
This section describes how to uninstall Version 2.
To uninstall Version 2:
1. Withdraw all the Version 2 relationships by using a host command.
2. Check that all the Version 2 relationships are deleted.
You can use Remote Web Console or the FCQUERY command to check if all the
Version 2 relationships are deleted. For details about the F CQUERY command, see
“Viewing Information for Version 2 Relationships” on page 96.
3. Set the devices used by Version 2 offline.
4. Select Compatible FlashCopy V2 and click Uninstall in the Remote Web Console window.
5. Click Apply in the Remote Web Console window.
6. Setthe devicesthatwereset offline in step 3 ba ck to online.
ThehostrecognizesthatVersion 2was uninstalled.
7. Execute the devserv command with the VALIDATE option of QDASD for the devices in the
subsystem.
For an example of the devserv command, see Figure 29 on page 65.
8. Perform the mainframe host path offline/online operation from your host.
Notes:
• You need to perform the offline/online operation once for one device used for Version 2 in
each CU.
• Version 2 does not support the R EMOVEFCPY parameter of the IC KDSF CONTROL comm and.
