In addition, Σ(γ) ≤ 1,048,575 is:
• 10 ≤ 1,048,575.
Since the example shown in Figure 28 on page 62 meets the conditions shown above, you can establish
all the relationships in Figure 28 on page 62.
Selecting Prio
rOperations
You can use the o
ptions in Table 30 on page 63 for Version 2 operations.

Version 2 Options

Requirement
FCv2 Slower Copy1
The FCv2 Slower Copy1 option
suppresses the background copy
operations by Version 2, and prioritizes
the
host I/O operations. For details, see
“FCv2 Slower Copy1 Option”onpage 63.
You need to set the FCv2 Slower
Copy2 option to invalid.
FCv2 Slower Copy2
The FCv2 Slower Copy2 option
suppresses the background copy
operations by Version 2, and prioritizes
the
host I/O operations. You can
suppress more background copy
operations of V ersion 2 by using this
option than when you use the FCv2
Slower Copy1 option. For details, see
“FCv2 Slower Copy2 Option”onpage 63.
-
Note:
Available option types depend on the storage system settings.
FCv2 Slower Copy1 Option
The FCv2 Slower Copy1 option is used to improve host I/O responses over the background copying
processing time of Version 2 relationships. When the F Cv 2 Slower Copy1 option is in effect, the number
of Version 2 relationships that can be copied simultaneously in the background will be suppressed to
half, and consequently host I/O responses improve.
Warning:
If the FCv2 Slower Copy2 option is in effect, the FCv2 Slower Copy1 o ption becomes invalid.
Notes:
• When background copying processing of Version 2 is suppressed by the FCv2 Slower Copy1
option, the time taken for background copying increases. However, since the background copying
processing time of relationships is not always the same, note that the background co pying
processing time will not be necessarily doubled.
• If Business Copy pairs or Version 1 relationships exist in the same parity group, host I/O
responses might not be improved.
FCv2 Slower Copy2 Option
The FCv2 Slower Copy2 option is used to improve host I/O responses over the background copying
processing time of Version 2 relationships. When the F Cv 2 Slower Copy2 option is in effect, the number
of Version 2 relationships that can be copied simultaneously in the background will be suppressed to
one-quarter, and c onsequently host I/O responses improve.
The FCv2 S lower Copy2 option and the FCv2 Slower Copy1 option basically have the same function.
The difference between these two options is that you can improve host I/O responses more by using the
FCv2 Slower Copy2 option tha n by using the FCv2 Slower Copy1 option. This h appens since the FCv2
Slower Copy2 option suppresses more background copy operations than the FC v2 Slower Copy1 option.
Warning:
If the FCv2 Slower Copy2 option is in effect, the FCv2 Slower Copy1 o ption becomes invalid.
