In the case of emulation t ype 3390-9, the maximum number of resources that can be used as
an
S-VOL is 48.
In the case of emulation type 3390-L, the maximum number of resources that can be used as an
S-VOL is 144.
In the case of emulation t ype 3390-M, the maximum number of resources that ca n be used
as
an S-VOL is 272.
The number of pairs that can be created is determined according to the following condition:
The maximum number of relations that can be established is the largest num ber that meets the
equations Σ(α) (β)and Σ(γ) 1,048,5 75, where:
Σ(α) stands for the total number of resources that need to be used.
(β) stands for the total number of resources available in the subsystem.
(β) = 26,17 6 or 57,600, or 104,7 68, or 146,688, or 209,600

Σ(γ) stands for the total number of relationships.
The following gure shows an example of when seven relationships are created with 3390-3 volumes and
three relationships are created with 3390-L volumes (32,769 CYL).
