When you use Version 2, you cannot create pairs sharing the volumes shown in Figure 20 on page 50.
Using Version 2 with TrueCopy for Mainframe
• Volumes that can be shared:
The following table shows the combination of volumes when you use Version 2 with TrueCopy for
Mainframe. Note that basically, TrueCopy for Mainframe includes both TrueCopy Synchronous
for M ainframe and TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe.

• Volumes that cannot be shared:
The Version 2 and TrueCopy for Ma inframe shared configuration is different from the IBM
FlashCopy a nd PPRC shared configuration. For Version 2 and TrueCopy for Mainframe, you
cannot create the following pairs (see Figure 21 on page 51):
• A TrueCopy for M ainframe pair that includes a volume functioning as both a Version 2 T-VOL
and a TrueCopy for Mainframe M-VOL
• A TrueCopy for M ainframe pair that includes a volume functioning as both a Version 2 T-VOL
