This chapter describes how to operate Version 1.

Commands for Version 1 Operations

Version 1 supports both DFSMSdss commands and TSO PPRC commands to enable you to perform

Version 1 operations from zSeries and S/390 host systems. This user’s guide does not provide complete

instructions for using commands from the host system. For d etailed information on using the DFSMSdss

and

TSO PPRC c

ommands, see the IBM user documents.

Note:

To use the PPRC TSO commands, you must ad d the command names to the AUTHCMD PARM of

IKJTSOxx, which is a mem ber of SYS1.PARMLIB, because the system is protected by RACF. For details,

see the IBM us

documents.

The PPRC TSO commands and the DFSMSdss command that are available for Version 1 are:

Establishing a Version 1 Relationship

You need to use the F CESTABL com m and of PPRC TSO or the DFSMSdss command to establish a

Version 1 relationship.

You must spe

cify the simplex volume to establish a Version 1 relationship. In addition, when the SSID

boundary is 64-LDEV, the S-VOL and the T-VOL for Version 1 must be established in the same CU

image and SSID.
