Transferr
ing Business Tasks from the Continuous Access Secondary Site to the Primary Site (in

If you remo
ve failures from the primary site and other locations and
then the
system is changed to a 3D C multi-target configuration (see
“Recovering from a Disaster a t the P rimar y Site in a 3DC Multi-Target Configuration” on page 1 47 and
“Changing to a 3DC Multi-target Configuration after Recovering from Primary Site Failures” on page 63),
you can transfer your business tasks back to the primary site.
To transfer your business tasks back to the p rimar y site, follow the procedure below. RAID Manager is
used in t
his procedure.
1. Use R AID Manager to release the current Continuous Access Journal pair, which extends between
the
Continuous Access secondary site a n d the Continuous Access Journal secondar y site.
2. Stop th
e
business tasks at the Continuous Access Synchronous secondary site.
3. Use RAID Manager to execute the horctakeover command on the Continuous Access
Synchronous pair.
4. Use the
primary volume at the primary site to resume your business tasks.
5. Use RAI D Manager to create a Continuous Access J ournal pair. Ensure that the Continuous
Access Journal primar y data volume is a volume at the primary site, and that the Continuous
Acces
s
Journal secondary data volume is a volume at the Continuous Access Journal secondary
site.
The system configuration returns to the original 3 DC multi-target con figuration.
