Caution: When an MCU and RCU are connected via switches with a channel extender and multiple
remote copy paths are assembled, the capacity of the data to be transmitted may concentrate on
particul
ar
switches, dep ending on the configuration a nd the set tings of the switch routing.
Configuring the Primar y Storage Systems and Secondar y
Storage Systems for Continuous Access Journal Operations
After you have installed the Continuous Access Journal hardware and software, you can configure the
primary storage systems and seconda ry storage systems for Continuous Access Journal operations.
To configure the primary storage systems and secondary storage systems for Continuous Access Journal
operations:
1. Identify the volumes that will become the Continuous Access Journal da ta volumes and journal
volumes in the primary storage system and secondary storage system . You need to know the
storage system S/N and port ID, so that you can configure theprimary storagesystems and
secondary storage systems correctly for your desired pairs. When you create the pairs, you will
need to know the port, group ID (GID), and LUN for each volume.
2. Stop Performance Monitor to avoid overloaded traffic of TC P/IP, if this program product
is
running. On a primary storage system and a secondary storage system, you will stop
Performance Monitor.
3. Connect to the storage system that you want to use. For further information on Remote Web
Console installation and operations, see the HP StorageWorks XP24000 Remote Web Console
User’s Guide or contact your HP service representative. Operate at a primary storage system
and a
secondary storage system.
