Caution: When youuse aBusinessCopyP-VOL as aContinuousAccessJournal S-VOLasshown in
Figure 15 on page 35, the write operation to the Continuous Access Journal P-VOL may takes extra time
due to the time necessary for the copying process of the Business Copy pair.
In addition, note that if the journal volume size is small, the Continuous Access Journal pair may be
suspended by failure because of the shortage of the capacity of its journal volume.
Caution : When you share a Business Copy P-VOL with a Continuous Access Journal S-VOL as shown
in Figure 15 on page 35, Quick Restore or Reverse Copy can not be executed. The command will
be rejected if executed.
The configuration shown in Figure 16 on page 36 is an example of a volume that is functioning as
both a Continuous Access Journal P-VOL and a Business Copy P-VOL, while the S-VOL of the same
Continuous Access Journal pair is also functioning as the P-VOL of another Business Copy pair. This
configuration allows:
• On-site backup copies of Continuous Access Journal P-VOLs and S-VOLs
• Remote backup of Business Copy P-VOLs
