Troubleshooting XP Snapshot
Table 24 on page 74 shows problems that are likely to occur when using XP Snapshot. The table
describes the causes of the problems and what you should do to solve the problems.

• Shared memory for the V-VOL management area is not installed.
• Shared memory is not set for the V-VOL management area.
• Shared memory for the differential tables is not installed.
Solutions:
• Contact your HP account support representative and check if the
shared memory for the V-VOL management area and the differ-
ential tables is installed.
• Contact your HP account support representative and check if the
shared memory for the V-VOL management area is set correctly.
Cannot install XP Snapshot.
Causes:
• Pool is blocked.
Solutions:
• Implement the measures in “Recovering blocked
pools” on page 77.
Pool information is not displayed.
Causes:
• Pool-VOLs are blocked.
Solutions:
• Implement the measures in “Recovering blocked
pools” on page 77. In addition, after the problem is solved, you
must complete the SIMs. If you do not, new SIMs cannot occur,
even if a pool is blocked again. For more information, see
“Completing pool-related SIMs” on page 78.
