1. Change Command View XP or XP Remote Web Console to Modify mode. For instructions, see the

2. On the Pool pane, select and right-click the Snapsho t XP icon in the Pool tree, and select Delete
Pool(s).Aconfirmation m essage appears.
3. Click OK. The pools' icons change indicating the po ols being deleted.
4. Click Apply.Aconfirmation message appears.
5. Click OK.Theconfirmation message closes, and the pools are deleted from the array.
Initializing V-VOL management areas or pool management blocks
This section d escribes how to initialize the whole V-VOL management areas or a pool management
block in th
e V-VOL management area.
Initializing V-VOL management areas
By initializing the whole V-VOL management area, the V-VOL manag em ent area is used more efficiently.
Therefore, you can create a pool with a capacity that is larger than before the initialization or create
more po ols compared to before the initialization.
You must delete all pools in the array to initialize the V-VOL management area. If pools exist in the array,
only the pool management block is initialized instead of the whole V-VOL management area. For more
inform ation, see Initializing pool management blocks.

2. On the Pool pane, click Initialize.Aconfirmation message appears.
3. Click OK.Aconfirmation message appears.
4. Click OK.Aconfirmation message appears.
5. Click OK. The V-VOL management area or pool management block is initialized.
Initializing pool management blocks
If you initialize the pool management block, the pool's I/O performance improves compared to before
the initialization. You can initialize the pool management block without changing pools already created
in t
he array.
The procedure to initialize the pool management block is the same as for initializing the V-VOL
management area. To initialize the pool management block, see Initializing V-VOL management areas.
