Mapping external LUs
After setting the port used for External Storage XP to External, map the external LU as an internal XP LDEV.
There are two ways to map external LUs:
Manually via the Add LU command (”Manually mapping external LDEVs (Add LU)” on page 52). This
method displays the Add LU window (”Add LU window” on page 46).
Automatically map several external LUs at one time via the Add LU (AUTO) command. This method
displays the Auto Map Setting window (”Auto Map Setting window” on page 50) and the Select LDEV
window (”Select LDEV window” on page 52).
If you mapped the external volume and previously set the VMA of LUN Security XP Extension in that
volume, the former VMA setting is superseded when you map the volume again. However, if LUN Security
XP Extension is not installed when you remap the volume, the volume with the VMA setting cannot be
mapped.
