Figure 15 shows an example of a Continuous Access XP P-VOL that also functions as a BC P-VOL. With
this configuration, use BC for on-site data backup if a Continuous Access XP failure occurs, and use
Continuous Access XP to provide remote backup of the BC P-VOL if a BC failure occurs.

Figure 16 shows an example of a Continuous Access XP S-VOL that also functions as a BC P-VOL. With
this configuration, use BC to provide multiple backup copies of a single Continuous Access XP P-VOL.

Figure 17 combines the configurations shown in the two previous figures. Within a single Continuous
Access XP pair, the P-VOL and S-VOL function as BC P-VOLs, providing multiple copies at primary and
remote sites.

Figure 18 shows an example of a BC S-VOL that is also used as a Continuous Access XP P-VOL.

CAUTION: This configuration requires that the BC pair be established in duplex mode (PAIR) and
then split (PSUS) before the Continuous Access XP pair is created (BC and Continuous Access XP
pairs cannot be in PAIR status at the same time).
