NOTE: Create a shell script on the OS the system administrator uses. For more information about
creating shell scripts, see the appropriate documentation for that OS.
Special file names given from standard input to the RAID Manager XP command
When giving special file names from standard input to the raidscan, inqraid, or mkconf.sh
commands, specify cat/home/nasroot/horc_devfile instead of ls/dev/sd*.

Notes for scanning the NAS package’s port by the raidscan command
Information on /dev/sda-sdi equivalent to the NAS system LU (NAS OS LU and dump LU) can be
displayed when scanning the NAS package’s port using the raidscan command. You should not
define this information in HORCM_DEV in the configuration file because you cannot use the NAS system
LU (NAS OS LU and dump LU) as P-VOLs and S-VOLs.
Scope related to NAS Backup Restore features
Business Copy XP operations set by the Snapshot feature in NAS Backup Restore
You should not operate Business Copy XP settings by the Snapshot feature using RAID Manager XP
commands. You should also not operate Business Copy XP set by the Snapshot feature using Command
View XP or XP Remote Web Console.
Operate Business Copy XP using the GUI screen in NAS Backup Restore or the command in the
Snapshot feature.
Configuring a cascade connection of Continuous Access XP Journal/Business Copy XP
When configuring a cascade connection of Continuous Access XP Journal/Business Copy XP, set and
perform Business Copy XP and display the status using only RAID Manager XP; not the Snapshot
feature in NAS Backup Restore.
Limitations on backup management software functionality
If you resynchronize a Continuous Access XP Journal pair defined by the Remote Copy function after
performing a backup of the S-VOL using backup management software, a full backup is acquired next
time.
Scope related to other Hitachi Network Attached Storage products
NAS Sync Image
When using Continuous Access XP Journal or Business Copy XP to copy a file system managed by NAS
Sync Image, you must copy LUs constituting the file system and LUs constituting differential-data storage
devices. If you copy only LUs constituting a file system, you cannot connect them to the NAS Blade
system on the secondary site.
The setting for an automatic creation schedule for NAS Sync Image is not copied. The differential-data
snapshot mounted by the automatic creation schedule is not mounted at the copy destination.
