Use the following formula to calculate the maximum possible number of pairs that can be
created, based on the number of bitmap areas described in Table 17 (page 55) and the
required number of bitmap areas you calculated:
maximum number of pairs = ( Number of bitmap areas ÷ required number of bitmap areas
)
The symbols enclosing a value indicate that the value should be rounded down to the
nearest integer.
NOTE: If the calculated maximum number of pairs exceeds 32,768, the actual maximum
number of pairs is limited to 32,768.
Table 18 (page 55) illustrates the maximum number of pairs according to each emulation type,
when pairs are created without the use of a VLL volume.
