Table 41 CESTPAIR Command Parameters (Resynchronizing Pairs) (continued)
DescriptionValueParameter
Copy speed of resynchronization will be
medium.
Other than 1
SIz does not use this parameter. SIz ignores it.Not applicable.CRIT
MSGREQ function is applicable.YESMSGREQ
For a Resync request on all pairs in a CTG, do
not use the MSGREQ function. If you use the
MSGREQ function, the job will end abnormally
and CC = 8 will be reported.
MSGREQ function is not applicable.NO
Pair resynchronize operation (forward) will be
performed whether the T-VOL is online or not.
YESONLINSEC
1, 2
Pair resynchronize operation (backward) will
be performed whether the S-VOL and T-VOL
are online or not.
Pair resynchronize operation (forward) will not
be performed if the T-VOL is online.
NO
Pair resynchronize operation (backward) will
not be performed if the S-VOL and T-VOL are
online.
1
CU number or the parameter is valid only for the DKC emulation type 2105 or 2107.
2
When you do not specify the parameter, the result is same as when you specify NO for this parameter.
Figure 44 (page 98) shows an example of the CESTPAIR command with the MODE(RESYNC)
parameter.

ESTPAIR (Resynchronizing Pairs)
Table 42 (page 98) lists and describes the ESTPAIR command parameters that can be used when
you resynchronize SIz pairs.
Table 42 ESTPAIR Command Parameters (Resynchronizing Pairs)
DescriptionValueParameter
You should specify only one parameter of the
three parameters. The italic part on the left
DDNAME = dname = JCL statement identifying
the volume.
DDNAME,
SYSNAME, or
UNITADDRESS means that it is the arbitrary name. For
SYSNAME = sysxxx = SYSNAME in the
example, dname means the arbitrary unique
ASSGN system control statement.
name of the JCL statement which identifies the
volume.
UNITADDRESS = ccuu = device number.
If you set a parameter other than the
parameters on the left, the command will be
rejected.
Primary volume (S-VOL): SSID, serial number,
and channel connection address.
You can set an additional parameter
corresponding to each request instead of a
serial number.
