The HP WS460c Gen8 Graphics Server Blade
The HP ProLiant WS460c Gen8 Graphics Server Blade (Formerly WS460c Gen8 Workstation Blade) has been at the cutting
edge of workstation computing for years by allowing you to centralize your organization’s workstations in the data center.
Rather than placing the workstation’s computing power at the user’s desk, the computing powerin the form of a server
bladeis moved to the data center, where servers can be more easily, securely, and economically managed. The users
that would benefit from such implementation might include digital content and web creation, financial traders, Oil and Gas
engineering or any heavy compute users.
The WS460c Gen8 Graphics Server Blade breaks the mold again with industry first technology supporting up to 8 GPUs
per blade, enhanced memory footprint and speeds, full PCIe x16 GPU support, all on the proven HP ProLiant Gen8
architecture. The WS460c is ideal for bare metal or virtualized multi-tenancy high-end graphics users. All these features
enable users to complete large model visualizations with uncompromised workstation-class performance as well as
provide media-rich graphics to PC users.

The HP Multi-GPU Carrier Card
HP Multi-GPU Carrier card (see figure 8) for the WS460c Gen8 Graphics Server Blade is an industry first MXM (small form
factor GPU card) carrier card technology with four MXM slots making the HP Graphics Server Blade the highest density GPU
blade platform on the market. Providing high-density, high-end 3D graphics for GPU accelerated desktop virtualization
with support for up to 8 GPUs (256 GPUs per rack) in a blade form factor to support all accelerated graphics for desktop
virtualization technologies. Figure 8 shows the HP Multi-GPU solution achieves the highest GPU density solution on the
market today.
