Integrating HP Software Delivery Repository with Red Hat Network Satellite™
3
HP Note
For the remainder of this document, only one representative
combination of distribution, version, architecture, and ProLiant
Support Pack product release (eg. RedHat, 5.3Server, i386, and
8.31) is described in detail.
The following process can be applied to any respective
combination supported by the Software Delivery Repository
products of interest and for your local Red Hat Network Satellite
environment.
Obtain the meta-data information
1. Visit the HP Software Delivery Repository and familiarize yourself with the offerings and
documentation.
2. Download the "bootstrap.sh" script to become familiar with its use. (Although not required, it may
be easier to select a Linux host that matches the eventual target environment.)
3. On the Linux host, invoke the "bootstrap.sh" script with the following command, to familiarize
yourself with use: sh ./bootstrap.sh –h
HP Note
Using the verbose and preview modes provide access to what
would be delivered for a particular host (the following example
is for the ProLiant Support Pack product):
sh ./bootstrap.sh -v -n ProLiantSupportPack
This is the recommended command usage, so as not to change the
configuration of the Linux host issuing the command.
4. At this point, you may need to include more command-line arguments (for example "-
a", "-d", "-r") to explicitly query the desired target system combination. This need is
especially true if the current host does not match the eventual target environment.
Examples of abbreviated output follow:
note : enabled verbose output
note : enabled preview only mode
note : determined distribution : RedHat
note : determined release : 5Server
note : determined architecture : x86_64
