In production configuring a logical drive is generally straightforward: if it’s in the node it’s in use. If it’s desirable to use a
subset of the drives present in the system, the recommendation is configuring logical volumes only for drives to be used.
Array accelerator cache is divided between configured logical drives, so unused logical volumes will take up caching
resources. The result is a less accurate representation of peak performance
