NOTE: If you are installing a Remote Insight board, you must cable the expansion board to
the system board. Refer to “Remote Insight Board” in this chapter.
11. Install the access panel.
12. Install the server. Refer to Chapter 5, “Installing the Rack Server” or Chapter 6,
“Installing the Tower Server.”
13. Cable the server. Refer to Chapter 7, “Cabling the Server.”
14. Power up the server. Refer to Chapter 8, “Server Configuration and Utilities.”
15. Be sure that the internal health LED on the front panel LED assembly is
illuminated green, indicating that the system is functioning properly. For detailed
information on LEDs, refer to Appendix C, “System LEDs and Switches.”
16. If the LED indicates an error, refer to Appendix D, “Troubleshooting,” or refer to
the troubleshooting guide for instructions.
Remote Insight Board
The Remote Insight board is a PCI-based expansion board that contains a built-in
processor and fully supports keyboard, mouse, and PCI video functions. With a
Remote Insight board installed in the server, you can use a standard web browser and
Insight Manager to access and remotely manage the server from any console on the
network, regardless of the state of the host operating system.
This server supports the following Remote Insight boards:
• Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition (16-pin connector)
• Remote Insight Lights-Out Pro (30-pin connector)
